Dallas, Texas – November 3, 2025 – The Texas Certified Public Manager (CPM) Program is proud to announce that Timmy Newsome, founder and chief technology officer of Newtec Business Solutions, will serve as the guest lecturer at the upcoming CPM lecture. His lecture is titled “Effective Software Solutions for the Public Sector”
Timmy Newsome, a celebrated athlete and technology provider, is renowned for his contributions both on and off the field. After a successful career with the Dallas Cowboys where he scored 30 touchdowns, Newsome spent his off seasons as a computer programmer/analyst and transitioned fulltime to technology, founding Newtec Business Solutions in 1991. Over the past 34 years, his company has been at the forefront of digital transformation, providing secure unified communications and cloud-based solutions to businesses of all sizes. Newsome’s unique journey from professional sports to technology entrepreneurship has inspired countless individuals, and his commitment to youth empowerment and community service has made a lasting impact.Mr. Newsome is a member of the Department of Computer Science Advisory Board at Winston-Salem State University.The Texas Certified Public Manager Program, housed at the William P. Hobby Center for Public Service at Texas State University, is a nationally accredited initiative designed to elevate public service through leadership development, ethical values, and technical competencies. The program offers seven comprehensive tracks, blending academic theory with practical applications to address real-world challenges in public management. Since its inception in 1995, the program has certified over 2,600 public managers across Texas, empowering them to lead with integrity and innovation.The symposium will feature a series of engaging sessions and discussions led by experienced professors, skilled practitioners, and community leaders. Participants will explore strategies to tackle emerging challenges in public administration, including the integration of technology, ethical leadership, and innovative solutions for community development.
